SLICED GROUND SHOTS FOR BEGINNERS: The forehand and backhand slice are really important shots that aren’t practised enough.

Drop shots, defensive lobs/recovery shots and approach shots off low balls are all played with slice so it’s important that you get used to it. In fact, slice is your best option on any ball where you’re in trouble so you’d play it off very wide, low, high or fast balls when topspin isn’t an option. in this video, I show you how to play a basic slice on the forehand and backhand, using a chopper/continental grip and starting high, hitting down the back of the ball.
